In this chapter of the tarot course, we will see The Horseshoe Spread. What is it for? How to do the Horseshoe Spread in tarot? How to interpret this reading?

The Horseshoe Spread is an advanced tarot reading, specifically designed to obtain clear and concrete answers to a situation. In this spread we can see everything we have for or against and what would be the solution to the problem or situation.
For this spread, we will use seven cards from the Tarot deck, and as its name says, we must place them as in the drawing of a horseshoe.

In this reading, the fact of placing seven cards on the table makes the spread yield more concise answers than those that can be obtained in more basic spreads.
Although it is not essential, it is advisable to have some experience in the Tarot to perform this spread.

This spread can be done with any deck of cards.

How to do the Horseshoe Spread reading?

Step 1, Once all the tarot cards have been shuffled, we formulate the question we have prepared.
Step 2, Next, seven cards are chosen from the deck and placed following the horseshoe pattern, starting from the left side and ending on the right.

It is worth clarifying that all the Tarot cards can be placed face down first and then turned over in order, or they can be placed in order directly face up. This depends on the tarot reader, the important thing is to respect the horseshoe shape.

Reading and Interpretation of the Horseshoe Spread

Once the seven cards are arranged in the shape of a horseshoe, we will begin the reading from left to right, each position representing the following:

  • Card 1 indicates The Past: It shows a past situation. The one that originated the main problem and that has motivated us to consult The Oracle of the Tarot.
  • Card 2 represents The Querent. It defines the present situation of the problem or the present moment of the querent.
  • Card 3 indicates The Future: It represents the immediate future of the problem or situation of the querent, indicating what should be done.
  • Card 4 indicates the Way Out of the problem: It suggests the current outcome of the problem, and the best strategies to find the best solution to put an end to the situation.
  • Card 5 indicates the Reaction of the Environment: This card shows us the personal environment of the querent, as well as the position and attitude of the people around him/her.
  • Card 6 indicates the Obstacles: This card shows the problems and obstacles that will stand between the querent and the final solution.
  • Card 7 indicates the Result: This is the card of the final result, which indicates the final resolution of the problem.

Clarification: remember that if you need more information about a card, you can draw another card about it and you will be able to clarify the interpretation.
