In this chapter of the tarot course, we will see the Crossroads spread. What is it for? How to do the Crossroads spread? How to interpret this reading?

The Crossroads spread is a very useful tarot reading for when we have to make a decision, in which two possible paths are presented for you to choose from. For example, when you must choose between two loves, whether or not to continue a love relationship, choose between two possible jobs or proposals.

This tarot spread is for when we are at a crossroads, because it allows us to know what can happen in each of the paths of the two roads of the crossroads.

How to do the crossroads spread?

Doing the crossroads spread is easy. It is worth noting that, the essential condition for this reading is that there can only be two options, yes or no, A or B. Therefore, before starting the reading, the first thing to do is to be very clear about the two possible paths, or the two options that we are going to consider.

This spread can be done with the entire deck, or if you are just starting out, only with the major arcana.

This tarot spread consists of six cards that are arranged in the shape of a cross:

  1. To do this, we will place the first, second, third and sixth cards, arranged vertically, from bottom to top.
  2. Then, we will arrange 2 cards horizontally, from left to right, She are cards four and five. These are the ones that form the arms of the cross, and should be on each side of card number three.
  3. In this way, we assemble a cross with the 6 cards.

How to interpret this tarot reading?

To begin this reading, we start from the bottom up. Let’s see what each position means in the crossroads spread.

  1. Position One: This card represents the querent and his feelings about the subject in the present and his attitude. How does he feel, how does he see it, what is happening to him?
  2. Position Two: represents how the querent is affected by the crossroads. In other words, the consequences of the issue in his daily life and in the long term, as well as how it affects his relationships and his life.
  3. Position Three: This card is the crossroads. The two cards next to it represent the two possible alternatives. We must pay close attention, as this card describes the nature of the problem and the dilemma. This card gives us the first hint of help to solve the crossroads.
  4. Position Four: The card to the left of the third, represents the consequences, what would happen if we choose to follow this path.
  5. Position Five: Located to the right, this card is the opposite of card four. It represents the other possible path, and shows us what would happen if we choose the other possible option.
  6. Position Six: This top card represents the Tarot’s advice itself. It is the solution that the oracle proposes to solve the crossroads in which we find ourselves.
